Enlarging access to drinking water

Today, on August 14, 2024, the Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Rebuilding our Ukraine Foundation to join forces in implementing charity projects focused on support for people directly affected by the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The main focus of cooperation will be scaling the ReH2O project, which provides civilians in war-affected regions with access to drinking water.

Rebuilding Our Ukraine Foundation has installed ten drinking water treatment plants in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Mykolaiv regions. But the needs are much higher. According to received requests from regional authorities, at least an additional 150 units shall be placed in villages, towns, and cities in the east, north, and south of Ukraine.

“It is critically important to unite efforts and provide better access to drinking water for people affected by an ongoing war. We, as Angels for Ukraine, responded to the humanitarian consequences of the horrific explosion of the Kakhovka Dam organized by russian occupation forces in June 2023. Last summer, we distributed over 5,500 food parcels and 65,000 liters of bottled drinking water in the Kherson region. Placing drinking water treatment plants can solve the water issue for locals for an extended period. Applying sustainable and long-term solutions is crucial in such a difficult humanitarian situation. And ReH2O is one of them,” – Vladyslav Shelokov, the President of Angels for Ukraine, shares his thoughts on future cooperation.

Angels for Ukraine will continue to work with its donors and partners to organize complex support for projects focused on lasting solutions to guarantee people’s access to drinking water.
