A unique culinary initiative has taken root in Zaporizhzhia, where local fast-food chain YaPoiv has partnered with the Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation to offer hamburger cooking master classes specially designed for children. This heart-warming cooperation aims to bring joy to young residents while teaching them valuable culinary skills.

A Recipe for Hope

The program, launched last year, invites children between the ages of 7 and 17 to participate in hands-on cooking workshops where they learn to craft the perfect hamburger from scratch. Each two-hour session is hosted by YaPoiv’s professional chefs, who guide participants through every step of the burger-making process—from selecting quality ingredients to final presentation.

More Than Just Cooking

The master classes offer more than culinary instruction. Each session incorporates elements of food safety, nutrition education, and teamwork. Children learn about the importance of balanced meals, proper food handling, and the satisfaction of creating something delicious with their own hands.

Vladyslav Shelokov, the President of Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation, notes the therapeutic aspect of the program: “Many of these children have experienced significant disruptions in their lives. These classes provide a sense of normalcy and accomplishment. Seeing their proud smiles when they present their finished hamburgers is truly rewarding.”
