Communication Volunteer

Position Overview

The Communication Volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting the Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation’s mission by managing and enhancing our communication efforts. This position is responsible for creating and distributing content across various platforms to increase awareness, engage supporters, and promote the foundation’s activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Management

• Create and schedule regular posts for all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Monitor and respond to comments and messages
• Analyze social media metrics and provide regular reports

2. Content Creation

• Write articles, blog posts, and press releases about the foundation’s activities and impact
• Write human interest stories and interviews with staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries
• Develop email newsletters for subscribers and donors
• Create visual content such as infographics and short videos

3. Website Management

• Update the foundation’s website with new content and ensure information is current
• Monitor website analytics and suggest improvements for user experience

4. Media Relations

• Assist in developing media kits and press materials
• Help coordinate media inquiries and interviews

5. Internal Communications

• Support the creation of internal newsletters and updates for staff and volunteers
• Assist in organizing and documenting team meetings and events

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Ukrainian
• Experience with social media management and content creation
• Familiarity with basic graphic design and video editing tools
• Knowledge of website content management systems (WordPress)
• Understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices
• Passion for humanitarian causes, particularly those related to Ukraine

Time Commitment

• Minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexibility based on project needs
• 3-month minimum commitment, with the possibility of extension

Reporting

The Communication Volunteer will work in close cooperation with the Program team and Volunteer Lead.
