Four Years of Resilience: We Continue Our Mission
February 24, 2026, marks four years since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine—four years that have tested the strength, dignity, and endurance of millions of Ukrainians. It has also been four years in which civil society has demonstrated extraordinary resolve. Angels for Ukraine, which began as a volunteer initiative in February 2022, has grown into a vital force supporting communities across the country.
From the earliest days of the invasion, Angels for Ukraine committed itself to one guiding mission: to protect, serve, and uplift Ukrainians whose lives have been shattered by war. Today, the organization stands as a model of rapid-response aid, long-term recovery support, and community resilience.
How Angels for Ukraine Was Founded
The story of Angels for Ukraine begins with two individuals—Raitis Bullits and Brooks Newmark—who recognized early in the invasion that Ukraine’s rapidly evolving humanitarian crisis required immediate, organized, and professional support. Motivated by the urgency of saving lives and addressing escalating needs, they co-founded Angels for Ukraine in 2022 as a fast-acting, highly adaptive humanitarian organization.

Their founding vision emphasized operational agility: the ability to respond quickly to the changing needs of war-affected populations. This philosophy continues to guide the foundation’s work today, enabling it to launch timely initiatives such as evacuations, de-occupation support, child rehabilitation programs, and psychosocial care.
Thanks to the leadership and dedication of Mr. Bullits and Mr. Newmark, Angels for Ukraine has grown into a trusted force on the ground—recognized for its professionalism, compassion, and commitment to those most affected by the war.
Transformation During Service
Angels for Ukraine was founded with a clear purpose: to help people evacuate from danger and find safe shelter. Later, the foundation helped people to return and rebuild their homes. And now, Angels for Ukraine, together with partners, are working to implement sustainable solutions to make communities more resilient and effective.
Evacuation has been at the heart of Angels for Ukraine’s work. During these years, the foundation has evacuated more than 35,000 people from danger zones and conducted over 13,000 medical evacuation trips, providing life-saving assistance to wounded civilians and ensuring critical access to medical care.
In 2023, the foundation expanded its projects to support people in newly de-occupied territories, providing food boxes, drinking water, hygiene kits, and psychological support.
Over 4 years of providing support to the most vulnerable, Angels for Ukraine transformed its work into 5 core pillars: Children Support, Community Support, Mental Health, Veteran Support, and Emergency Response.
The foundation reached the milestone of 100,000 people served in November 2025 and continues to deliver its services to the most remote villages in different parts of Ukraine.
The Road Ahead: Commitment in the Face of Uncertainty
As Ukraine enters its fifth year of full-scale war, the needs of affected populations continue to shift. Angels for Ukraine remains committed to rapid adaptation by expanding humanitarian aid and psychosocial support and fostering cooperation among communities, donors, and businesses to accelerate sustainable recovery.
With a growing network of volunteers, partners, and supporters, Angels for Ukraine is ready to meet the challenges ahead.
A Future Built on Hope
Four years of war have changed Ukraine forever, but they have also shown the world the profound courage and resilience of its people. Angels for Ukraine embodies that spirit—offering life-saving aid today while helping build a future rooted in stability, opportunity, and hope.
As long as Ukrainians continue to face hardship, Angels for Ukraine will stand with them, driven by compassion, solidarity, and the founding vision of Raitis Bullits and Brooks Newmark.
