Statement on Russia’s Missile Attack on Sumy
Today, on April 13, 2025, russia once again demonstrated its utter disregard for human life by launching a missile strike on the city of Sumy, targeting civilians on Palm Sunday. This heinous act has resulted more than 20 deaths, turning a day of peace and reflection into one of devastation and grief.
We condemn this barbaric attack in the strongest possible terms. The deliberate targeting of civilians is a war crime, and those responsible must be held accountable. Sumy, a city that has endured relentless threats since the first days of the full-scale invasion, has once again been struck by russian aggression.
Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with the people of Sumy and all Ukrainians who continue to suffer under russia’s brutal assault.
We call on the international community to take decisive action. Words of condemnation are not enough—justice must be served. Ukraine will not be broken, and we will continue to fight for freedom, dignity, and peace.
