Social Media Volunteer

Position Overview

The Social Media Volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting the Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation’s mission by managing and enhancing our communication efforts on different social media platforms. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation and Management

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the foundation’s goals
• Create engaging, informative, and emotionally compelling content that highlights the foundation’s work
• Produce a mix of content types including:
  • Impact stories
  • Volunteer and beneficiary testimonials
  • Event announcements
  • Donation calls
  • Infographics about the foundation’s work

2. Platform Management

• Manage and maintain the foundation’s presence on:
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter/X
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube
• Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all platforms
• Respond to comments and messages promptly and professionally

3. Engagement and Community Building

• Increase follower engagement through interactive content
• Develop and implement engagement strategies
• Monitor and analyze social media metrics
• Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to showcase foundation activities

4. Storytelling and Awareness

• Craft narratives that humanize the foundation’s mission
• Share real stories of impact and support
• Raise awareness about the challenges faced by Ukrainian communities
• Promote transparency in the foundation’s work and fund utilization

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Ukrainian
• Experience with social media management and content creation
• Familiarity with basic graphic design and video editing tools
• Understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices
• Passion for humanitarian causes, particularly those related to Ukraine

Time Commitment

• Minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexibility based on project needs
• 3-month minimum commitment, with the possibility of extension

Reporting

The Communication Volunteer will work in close cooperation with the Program team and Volunteer Lead.
