In the early hours of May 25, Ukraine was subjected to a brutal, coordinated missile and drone barrage perpetrated by Russian military forces. This ruthless attack, executed with a combination of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles, has left a trail of devastation that transcends mere physical destruction—it has stolen countless futures and silenced innocent lives forever.

While Ukraine’s brave air defense systems managed to intercept 45 cruise missiles and neutralize 266 enemy drones, the severity of the onslaught could not be entirely mitigated. The barrage struck 22 locations, with debris from intercepted projectiles causing further damage across 15 sites. These attacks have inflicted deep, irreparable wounds on Ukraine’s communities, leaving survivors with profound sorrow and loss.

The human toll of this attack is particularly heartrending. In Kyiv, 11 civilians were injured across three districts as the city grappled with the chaos of the assault. In the Kyiv region, the lives of 4 individuals were cut tragically short, and 16 others sustained injuries. In Kharkiv, parts of the city were set ablaze, resulting in injuries to 3 citizens. In Khmelnytskyi, 4 people lost their lives and 5 more were wounded, with damage spreading across residential homes and schools.

The tragedy reaches its most devastating peak in the Zhytomyr region, where the attack claimed the lives of 3 children, leaving behind 12 injured young survivors and a community shattered by grief. The loss of these innocent lives represents a wound that will take generations to heal. Additionally, Mykolaiv suffered severe damage when a direct hit on a residential building resulted in 1 fatality and 5 injuries, while attacks in Sumy, Ternopil, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Chernihiv have further compounded the national tragedy by crippling infrastructure and engulfing communities in despair.

This catastrophic event is not only a military aggression but a humanitarian disaster that demands immediate and resolute action. The Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation stands in profound mourning over the immense loss of life, especially the heartbreaking loss of our children—our future. We call upon governments, international organizations, and individuals around the world to rally in support:

• Provide urgent humanitarian assistance to ease the suffering of affected families.
• Implement decisive diplomatic and economic measures to hold accountable those who perpetrate such acts of terror.
• Accelerate support for defense measures that ensure the safety and sovereignty of Ukraine, thereby protecting the lives of millions, including our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.

The sorrow we share is immeasurable, and with every lost life, particularly the precious ones stolen in their innocence, the voice for justice and peace grows louder. We must rise together—undaunted and resolute—in defense of human dignity and the future of Ukraine.
