Important Dialog for the Future Recovery
On May 22, an offline meeting of the Working Group on Veteran Practices and Policies was held as part of the EBA ESG Hub, under the theme: “Human Capital. Psychological Resilience as a Competitive Advantage.” We at the Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation were honored to participate in this vital dialogue that united business leaders, HR professionals, mental health experts, and passionate advocates for veterans’ welfare.
The gathering delved into important issues—examining how psychosocial risks, organizational context, legislative frameworks, and international standards intersect to affect psychological wellbeing. A key focus was on the challenges of reintegrating and employing veterans, a concern that aligns deeply with our commitment to support those affected by conflict and hardship.

We were proud that Valeria Oksametna, Angels for Ukraine MHPSS coordinator and the founder of the Mental Space project, shared her valuable insights into supporting veterans in rehabilitation and resocialization. Other speakers and participants of the meeting also presented innovative approaches to assessing psycho-emotional states and enhancing mental resilience. Their expertise reinforced our belief that psychological strength is not only a personal achievement but also a strategic asset for building resilient communities.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to Sense Hub for providing a welcoming, modern space that nurtured open dialogue and productive interactions. Their support played a crucial role in creating an environment where genuine ideas and practical solutions could flourish.

At the Angels for Ukraine Charity Foundation, we see psychological resilience as the bedrock of recovery and progress. When individuals and communities are mentally and emotionally strong, they can overcome adversity and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth. Being part of such thought-provoking discussions fuels our ongoing mission to empower those who need it most.
We remain deeply grateful to the European Business Association for their trust and vision in convening this essential conversation. We look forward to further collaborations that help create a healthy, strong, and inclusive environment for everyone touched by conflict.
